BY THE NUMBERS: 2
The Monarchs return two (2) starters from last year's team, Natalie Husson and Khloee Stoll. Husson is back for her sophomore campaign after earning First Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team honors in 2021, while Stoll looks to build off her All-Region, All-MCCAA, First Team All-Conference and All-Freshman Team honors from a season ago.
 
BY THE NUMBERS: 729
Speaking of Khloee Stoll ... the talented libero/defensive specialist racked up an impressive 729 digs as a freshman last season, second most in a single season in program history. The 729-dig season has Stoll positioned to make Macomb history as she enters the year 560 digs shy of breaking Kayla Cornett's career digs record of 1,288.
 
LET THE GAMES (MATCHES) BEGIN!
The wait is over! For the first time in 293 days, fans and supporters will get to see Macomb Volleyball in action! On Thursday (Aug. 25), fourth-year head coach Lauren "Doogie" Duquette and the Monarchs will a host a tri-match and will welcome in the preseason No. 6 nationally ranked Terra State Community College Titans and the Redhawks of Lake Michigan College. 
 
WELCOME TO MACOMB!
Coach Doogie and staff enter the 2022 campaign with a revamped roster that features 10 newcomers from a talent-laden recruiting class. The newcomers, a mix of local high school talent and college transfers, includes: Mallory Cardinale, Riley Fisette, Chante Hudgins, Skylar Hunt, Jacalyn Jarvie, Olivia Kulka, Kaylee Lathrop, Haile Polisano, Jordan Turner and Becca Weiss.
 
DIFFICULT SLATE AHEAD
The Monarchs will play five of their six matches next week in Ohio with a trip to Cuyahoga Monday and a four-match weekend at Owens CC that features contests against a pair of reigning NJCAA National Champions: Parkland (DII) and Owens (DIII). In between Ohio trips, the Monarchs will open MCCAA East play on the road Aug. 31 at Mott.
 
COMING OFF A 15-WIN SEASON
The 2021 edition of Macomb Volleyball finished with a 15-13 record overall and an 8-4 mark in MCCAA Eastern Conference play. The 15 wins marked the most in a single season for the program since 2011 when the Monarchs went 21-17 overall. 
 
SEASON OUTLOOK
With two award-winning returners and a host of incoming talent, the Monarchs are poised to once again compete for the MCCAA East crown this season after finishing two games back from a share of the league title in 2021. The Monarchs conference schedule begins in highly-challenging fashion with road trips to defending co-champs Mott and OCC slated as the first two league matches.
 
GET TO KNOW: #6 TERRA STATE
Terra State enters the 2022 season ranked No. 6 nationally in the NJCAA Division II Preseason Poll. The high ranking is a result of a successful 2021 campaign that saw the Titans go 36-5 overall. Over the weekend, the Titans went 0-4 against fellow ranked/other top competition in Illinois. Alexis Nowaczyk takes over as head coach of the highly-competitive Titans program this season.
 
GET TO KNOW: LAKE MICHIGAN
The Redhawks, led by head coach Rob Elliott-Schafnitz, kicked off their 2022 season with four matches at the famed Opening Weekend Tournament in Rockford, Illinois. The Redhawks got off to a strong start by posting a 3-1 record at the tournament and were led by Karissa Gest and Abigail Nunez who combined for 70 kills in four matches.
