AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Up 22-19 in the first set, Macomb Volleyball couldn't hold on as the host Raiders of Oakland Community College used a 26-24 comeback win in the opener to earn a straight sets victory Wednesday (Sept. 7) in Auburn Hills. With the loss, the Monarchs see their record shift to 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. The Raiders improved to 2-0 in league play and 6-1 overall after the winning by set scores of 26-24, 25-13 and 25-10.

Returning All-Region and All-Conference libero Khloee Stoll (Macomb, Mich./Anchor Bay) posted a match-high 18 digs to maintain her solid play, while Olivia Kulka (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) paced the attack with five kills and added a team-best three block assists in the three-set road contest.

After facing the top two teams in the MCCAA Eastern Conference a season ago (Mott/OCC) to open the 2022 league slate, the Monarchs will look to pick up their first conference win of the season next Wednesday (Sept. 14) when they host Schoolcraft College at 7 p.m. inside the Macomb Sports & Expo Center. The home match will mark the first of three consecutive home tilts for the Blue & White with Henry Ford visiting Warren on Sept. 19 and Jackson coming to town on Sept. 21.
