MONARCH REWIND
The tough luck continued for Macomb Volleyball Wednesday when the Ocelots of Schoolcraft College picked up their first (non-forfeit) win over the Monarchs since Oct. 19, 2017. Haile Polisano and Jordan Turner paced the attack with six kills each, while Chante Hudgins checked in with two kills on six attempts to maintain the team lead in hitting percentage through nine matches.

POLISANO'S BALANCED PLAY
A freshman out of Anchor Bay High School, Haile Polisano has showcased balanced play since arriving on campus earlier this fall. Through nine matches, Polisano has racked up 87 digs, 58 kills and 10 service aces for one of the more well-rounded stat lines on the team. Polisano's 58 kills and 10 aces leads the Monarchs, while her 87 digs is good for second on the team (Stoll, 175).

LEADERS THRU NINE MATCHES
Here's a look at a few leaders as of Sept. 15: As discussed, Haile Polisano leads the way in two categories with 58 kills and 10 aces ... Chante Hudgins checks in with a team-best .153 hitting pct. (min.  10 att.) ... Becca Weiss' 105 assists is best in the category ... Khloee Stoll has a team-leading 175 digs ... Jordan Turner has a team-high 43 blocks.

HAVE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE
Two home matches kick off the week as the Monarchs look to end their skid and get back to their winning ways. With five home matches remaining, the Monarchs will be focused on taking advantage of home court this week when Henry Ford and Jackson visit Warren. The Monarchs went 7-2 at home a season ago.

A LOOK AT: HENRY FORD
The Hawks of Henry Ford College will visit the Sports & Expo Center Monday with the same goal in mind as the Monarchs -- pick up conference win No. 1 on the season. The Hawks enter Monday's conference tilt 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the league play after recently dropping a five-set match to Schoolcraft before getting beat in three sets to first place Mott.

A LOOK AT: JACKSON
Welcome back, Jets, and welcome to the Eastern Conference! After a two-year hiatus, volleyball has returned to the campus of Jackson College. This time, the Jets fly in the MCCAA's Eastern Conference following a realignment this summer. The Jets will enter next week with a 2-5 overall mark and an 0-3 conference record. The Jets host Schoolcraft Monday evening.

A LOOK AT: NORTH CENTRAL MICHIGAN
The Jets get the welcome back and the Timberwolves get a welcome as North Central Michigan College ushers in collegiate athletics for the first time this year. At the time of this release, the the Petoskey-based Timberwolves check in at 0-3 but have a busy slate ahead with matches against MCCAA North opponents: Bay, GRCC and Muskegon.
