WARREN, Mich. – Macomb Baseball battled but ultimately fell short of an upset bid Saturday (April 30) as the visiting Jackson College Jets took two from the Monarchs. The Jets won game one, 14-5, behind a seven-run sixth inning and won game two, 7-0, after separating from the Monarchs with a four-run sixth inning in that contest.

GAME ONE: Jackson 14, Macomb 5

Jack Lyndrup (Macomb, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) posted a team-best two hits, going 2-for-3 with a run scored in the game one setback. Logan Rybarczyk (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay) remained steady at the plate with a two-RBI double, while Josh Medrano (Surprise, Az./Shadow Ridge), Harrison Ryan (Macomb, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) and Mason Spezia (China Twp., Mich./St. Clair) all recorded one RBI each.

Jeremy Pudlik (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Mott) was 1-for-1 with two walks and a run scored in the opener, while Joey Tedesco (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./GP North/Hillsdale) had a hit and came around to score twice.

GAME TWO: Jackson 7, Macomb 0

Tom Burt (Clinton, Mich./Clinton) and Harrison Ryan recorded two hits each to account for the Monarchs' four hits in the nightcap. Jeremy Pudlik was solid once again defensively as the shortstop made several key plays to keep the Monarchs within striking distance for much of the contest.

UP NEXT: at Owens CC

The Monarchs are off until Thursday (May 5) when they travel to Perrysburg, Ohio to take on Owens Community College. First pitch at Owens is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
